Australian Premiere,
Exclusive to Adelaide
Choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui
An achingly beautiful impression of the elegance and freedom that bodies – and brain cells – can produce when in perfect alignment with one another
In 2015, Adelaide Festival welcomes the extraordinary New York-based contemporary ballet company Cedar Lake to Australia for the first time with two must-see performances, Orbo Novo and Mixed Rep.
Renowned Belgian dancemaker Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s much lauded Orbo Novo is performed by the full Cedar Lake company of dancers who navigate his trademark choreography against a formidable lattice structure. Based on a book by neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor about her own stroke, rows of dancers tumble left and right, with breathtaking solos, duets and trios showcasing this electrifying ballet company’s remarkable technique, precision and range.
